Three different types of 3d anaglyph methods are compared in this video I created using a raytracer I wrote many years ago. The three methods are: red/blue glasses, magenta/green glasses, and yellow/blue glasses. Each method is about 34 seconds long, so you won’t have to wait long to get to your glasses. I have a 3D capable alienware aurora, but a non 3D monitor, Do I need the nVidia 3D glasses AND a 3D monitor, or just the glasses or just the monitor?

3D TVs and computer monitors that use passive glasses technology can have a limited viewing angle. That is you need to view the screen with your eyes level with the center of the screen. As the vertical angle increases, either up or down, the polarization of the lenses will no longer work, which causes ghosting. In this demo, the proper viewing angle is achieved when the upper left and lower right black quadrants are uniformly colored. See my LG review: pubpages.unh.edu for more information.
To view the 3D image you must cross your eyes. Once your eyes are crossed you will notice a third image appear in between the two original images. Try and focus on this third image and eventually it should become 3D. If you have never viewed images this way before it may be a little difficult but practice makes perfect!
